Fly - Bully Stag X Wolfhound Greyhound
Fly has been a good new asset to the team, fast and eager to learn. She has always been a hyperactive, 100 miles an hour all the time kind of dog. But she has also learned to be calm and gentle when she needs to be especially around the kids. She starting lugging on the first pig she saw at about three months old. Now she is beginning to build her finding skills. She does close range finds by herself and started finding with the other dogs at about nine months old. Her breed allows for a quick but quiet find, and we think she has the potential to be a main dog in the near future.

If she is after a pig, it has to be pretty fast to get away from her, and she will usually block them and lug straight up. I think she needs a few solo hunts to help her build her confidence scenting on her own. The only downside is she will bark if she is left in the dog box while the other dogs are after a pig. Though most dogs do this she is slowly improving, and we try to get up her every time she does it, and now she knows she needs to be quiet. She is still learning to find off the back of the ute, consistently but we think she has the potential and drive to be finding off the back in no time. She will winge and bark out of the box a little if she can see the dogs are keen or if she can smell something. Fly is the character of our team; there is never a dull moment with her hyperactive personality around. Her high energy and drive for hunting makes her a little weapon when out hunting. Once she builds her confidence some more and matures, she will be an exceptional dog.
