We've got cracker boars many times from dogs that have been lying down in the dog cage. Some bitches don't start working/hunting properly until they're two (full grown), keep taking her out, she'll crack onto it soon enough.
At 5 months old the pup is full of energy, take him for big walks, get some dog toys and tire him out to keep him quiet at home, you can also try putting him on a chain at home and seeing if it helps to be out of the cage.
Shock collars are a great tool when training pups, but so is positive reinforcement. Give him treats/toys/pats/verbal encouragement when he's being quiet/working off the ute.
Good luck bud, you've got some great looking dogs less
